St Nicholas Church, Hedworth Lane, Boldon Colliery was built in 1882. A Chancel and Lady Chapel were added in 1911 when the population of Boldon Colliery was increasing. In the late 1990s the church was re-ordered to provide better facilities and a more flexible worship space. Its fairly plain exterior hides a comfortable, friendly and warm interior.
